iSCSI Initiator-Software für IBM AIX

Ab der AIX Version 5.2 ist iSCSI implementiert. Als Voraussetzung wird nur eine funktionierende TCP/IP Konfiguration benötigt. Ist ein Ping zum iSCSI Target erfolgreich, kann der Software-Initiator installiert werden.

Über Smitty "smitty -> chgiscsisw" wird der iSCSI-Initiator erzeugt. In der Datei /etc/iscsi/targets wird alles weitere konfiguriert. Ein Beispiel zeigt die folgende Datei:

# The target line would look like:

Neben der reinen Konfiguration bietet das AIX einiges an Performance-Tuning für iSCSI. Folgende Werte inkl. des Vorgehens werden von IBM vorgeschlagen:

ifconfig en3 down
ifconfig en3 detach

chdev –a ent3 –a jumbo_frames=yes
chdev –l en3 –a tcp_recvspace=262144
chdev –l en3 –a tcp_sendspace=262144
chdev –l en3 –a rfc1323=1

ifconfig en3 up
